The committee members and line leaders would like to invite any interested residents to a meeting scheduled to be held this Friday (15 August 2008) at around 9pm. Tentatively, we propose to have the meeting near Col Johar's place (first row) but will update you via this website of any changes.

It has been a long time since we have had a gathering to discuss on matters pertaining to our neighbourhood. It is the intention of the committee to gather the feedback from residents with regards to:-

(i) security guard services;
(ii) any recent news and other concerns - break-ins, disturbance, wild animals/reptiles etc;
(iii) any concerns with SimeDarby, MBSA, TNB, TM, Pos Malaysia, Alam Flora?;
(iv) suggestions for social activities; and
(v) other matters

On that same note, the committee members will brief all residents who attend with regards to:-

(i) details of new residents & total number moved in;
(ii) status of security fees collection from residents; and
(iii) other relevant developments

Please do invite any neighbours who would be interested to attend too.

The new greenlane committee chief would like to call for a urgent security meeting to discuss and agree way forward on security matters (service scope, fees etc).

This follows from the heavy discussion on the latest collection status. as it stands now, the collection levels are very low - a shortfall against the cost needed to pay for the level of security services needed.

pls drop by to help solve this issue so that we can move forward.

As of last night's (13 Nov 07) meeting at Jefri's house, it was resolved that the Greenlane community will have its first AGM on 23rd Nov.

Agenda to follow. But critical matter is to resolve and gain new mandate with regards to the security initiative.

1) Discussion on our neighborhood issues.

2) Assisting Puan Norzifiah. She's a senior person in Guthrie and a concerned Greenlaner. See extract of her e mail below.

For the benefit of others, I have spoken to EN Salem ( Senior GM in Guthrie Property) on the following:

a) a number of foreign workers lingering around our area
b) the existence of kongsi behind/next to our area
c) construction of the guard house
d) possibility of fencing up our area

He has asked for a letter to be sent to him stating all the above and if we have a strong case, he will assist where possible. I was told by Colonel that we have written several times to Guthrie but no response so far. I would like to have copies of the said letters to support our application.

Not sure of the agenda but it has to do with the conditions we've set to improve their services. Time is tentative, pls call Azrul @ 017 373 8080.

This meeting was decided during the residents meeting on 25th June.

This AGM is held to (i) address the issue of security on our area, and (ii) to elect the committee members.

Greenlane residents met at Azrul's place on Monday 4th June.

The main point of discussion is the review of our current security arrangements which started on 1 April 2007. There were a few other related points such as -

i/ barrier gate
ii/ guard house
iii/ collection from residents

The next security fee collection period will start from 1 July for 3 months. To date we are still short of the targetted participation. So we need to touch base before the end of the month to have a feel on how we are progressing.

All GreenLane residents are invited to the meeting on Monday 25th June at 9pm. Please also invite new residents who just moved in.

Lack of support
Not happy with the lack of support we received from the residents esp when we're trying to improve the living conditions around the neighborhood. Only a handful familiar faces attends meetings / discussions / meet Guthrie's session (which was cancelled twice). As such, the pro tem committee decides to concentrate only on security issues. Other issues will be handled on case to case basis if there are benefits to everybody. Residents are advised to deal with Guthrie personally on the defects.

Security meeting
Another meeting is planned on the 4th June at Azrul's place (Security focal point) at 9 pm. His address is 27, U8/75C. We will discuss the shortcomings of the current security systems, improvements and way forward. The security superior will attend the meeting too. Hope to see the newcomers joining the meeting.

Website participation
We also noticed that the website's usage is very minimal lately. We hope that this not a bad sign.

We also plan to go back to 20th century technology ie distributing flyers for any announcements, minutes etc as many residents do not hv access to internet. Hence, pls read all the flyers in your post box as we're not being paid for what we're doing. Even we bear the photocopy cost. It will make us happy knowing that our flyers are being read.

We hope to see improvements soonest. We need to beef up our Muhibbah Spirit. We do not want to end up like most of the neighborhood in Malaysia - full of kiasus.
