guard houses, barrier gates + check points - things to look out for

Idea yes, it has long been the intention of the committee members and many concerned residents to proceed with putting up some form of barrier gate to ensure the adequate monitoring of unknown vehicles into our neighbourhood.

based on the various articles which had been posted in the past, here are a few things that we should look out for to ensure that there would be minimal objections by residents etc.

(i) the structures that we proposed to put up (the barrier gate) should not obstruct traffic on a public road - which I dont think that it does - so long as it is easily moved and does not deny anyone from entering - also see item (iv) below);

(ii) the structures are not dangerously located - which I believe it would not be. Meanwhile, we will ensure that there would be appropriate lighting in the area to make the gate fairly visible;

(iii) the structures have been erected for security reasons (i.e. and not to restrict traffic) - this is a yes for us;

(iv) the security guards should not ask for identity cards nor deprive entry to outsiders who decline to provide details - we will speak to the security service provider to ensure that this is adhered to and as such the guards are to take down details of those who wish to enter the neighbourhood. For those who decline to provide details, the guards are to take down details of the vehicles and description of those entering (where possible);

(v) the check points and/or the guard house should not give false impression by carrying logos/emblems of the police or the council on them - which we will ensure that they do not.

anyone else got anything to add?
