Feb2008/1 bulletin: Welcome and Gong Xi Fa Cai – happenings in Greenlane

Welcoming new residents

The residents’ committee welcomes new residents to Greenlane. We hope that you are settling well in your new home. We look forward to the opportunity to get to know each other more, when the occasion arises.

Gong Xi Fa Cai

We hope it is not too late to wish all our residents a Happy Chinese New Year. May the year of the rat bring happiness and security to you and your family.

Additional street lights at the back lane of U8/75

Thanks to tireless volunteer efforts of some residents, the MBSA recently put up 3 additional street lights for the back lane behind U8/75. This addresses the inadequate lighting in the area which posed security risks for residents.

Greenlaners have great fun go-karting

A few Greenlaners recently organised a karting session at the Shah Alam go-kart circuit, located at the Shah Alam stadium. The event included some basic coaching on kart racing techniques, including a fun race together. We look forward to the next outing.

3rd residents’ Pot Luck?

In an effort to build a stronger community bond, the committee is exploring a suitable date for the next Pot Luck event. The last event was held on 23rd November night and had a very good turn out. We would appreciate ideas on dates and time, so please provide your feedback at our website.

Security matters – decreasing participation

Once again due to low residents’ participation, the community is at cross-roads: should we continue with the security services or not at all? For the past few months some generous residents and the security service provider (Captain Malek) have been topping up to make up for the shortfall to pay for the 24 hour security services. We encourage others to participate in the security arrangements to bring costs down and / or increase the service level. Unity and participation is critical to improving security. Do give the volunteer members and line leaders your full support and assistance where possible.

Do visit our website for daily interaction

Residents are advised to air their concerns & disagreements either to the committee or at the website. This website is very interactive and you can find the latest happenings there. Feel free to update fellow residents with anything you feel is relevant to all.

That’s it for now. We shall be updating residents further on Greenlane happenings. Feel free to print / photocopy and distribute this Bulletin (download the attached PDF file below this post).

Cheers!
