need help to put some structure to this site

fellow residents and website users....

i need your help to put some structure to this site. of late, i am encouraged to see a lot of people participating and posting content on this site. this is great as it makes the site lively and gives all of us a reason to visit it daily (my number one goal of this site) to see what updates are available.

events, appointments and calendar

however, the structure is a little kelam kabut. for instance, if you check the "events" item (from the top menu)... this should show our greenlane residents' calendar of events (happenings without specific time or place) and appointments (events WITH specific time AND place). instead, you can see a lot of stuff all over the calendar. not quite how i believe a calendar should be used.

incident report and logs

additionally, the incident log is meant to show the incidents that happen in our neighbourhood. the aim is to keep a set of posts that describes the various incidents... so that we all (existing and new residents) can appreciate the number of times certain incidents have happened in this area... and appreciate the urgency of action to be taken. the incident reports are meant to be factual and a good report should contain the following (as a suggestion):

• estimate time & date
• weather / light etc - was it in the dark? was it on a clear day? etc
• location
• nature of incident (for categorisation)
• brief factual description - how it happened etc
• areas of weakness
• learnings
• immediate actions taken

reference guide and book pages & chapters

I have created a chapter in the Greenlane reference guide to help put some information and guide to the use of this website... in particular for content and structure. please give me thoughts on what should be in that chapter. one of it is a guide based on this post (but to be a little more better written). if you look at the reference book (link found on the top menu) - again, you will find that there appears not to be any structure.

so i would appreciate help from all to make this site a little more useful for all.
